Mac OS X Automation 101: Beginning Scripting, Automator & Xcode (Auto 101)

Mac OS X Automation (Auto 101) is designed to familiarize students with OS X developer tools, using them to automate your workflow, WITHOUT becoming a full-blown programmer or scripter.
This course focuses on modifying and creating custom automations using Automator and AppleScript. At the beginning of day 1, each student will be asked to select important real-world workflow problems.  Students will then utilize the rest of the course to solve those specific problems using automation.  Property Lists, Defaults Preferences system, and launchd, (underpinnings to automation) will also be covered throughout the course. AppleScript Studio and Perl will be covered on day 3.
Students will leave with the knowledge and techniques needed to get started automating; quite possibly with the working automation that was developed in-class.
